Like most jazz musicians, I always dreamed of playing at Ronnie Scott’s. In 2000, I sent in a demo CD of my stuff to Pete King who was, at the time, running the club. I followed up with phone calls and spoke to Pete a few times over the next few months. I’ll never forget returning home to find a message from Pete on my answering machine (no mobiles back then). He said he liked my stuff and wanted me to play a week long residency supporting the Hungarian gypsy jazz legend, Roby Lakatos. I could not believe my ears. This Live album is the result and I will always be grateful to Pete King for the opportunity and to the musicians who played with me.
